Welcome, you've found the right page if your looking for the Salisbury Skatepark. If you've never visited the great town of Salisbury, MD then here's a little background: it's on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, about a 30 minute drive west of the Atlantic and Ocean City, Maryland. The town inhabits around 25,000 people, with a good deal of that population skateboarders, yet there is no public skatepark. On top of that, the act of skateboarding is illegal within city limits. Two big bummers in our eyes. Our goal, and the reason for this website, is to build a public skatepark for Salisbury. As of right now, and judging by the guage to the left you can probably guess that money is a issue. Our goal is to raise $30,000, to be used as a matching amount for a state grant from Program Open Space, and we are working very hard to achieve that goal. Both the City of Salisbury and Wicomico County are in favor of this project, and are willing to donate the land for the skatepark. If the matching funds can be raised, either the City or the County will submit the grant application to the state and work together with us on the construction of the park. Besides, going door to door begging, the big money maker right now is a fundraising event on Saturday, June 7th in Downtown Salisbury. The fundraiser will consist of an open skate session starting at noon, there will be plenty of stuff to skate and live music. $10. Find out more under the events link. Skateboarding is special to a lot of people around here in Salisbury, we believe the park to be a future reality and when the park is built it will only add to the diverse place that is Salisbury, MD.
